Leaving Certificate Programme
Students are required to take seven subjects for the Leaving Certificate. Subject groupings are designed according to the needs of the student year group before they enter 5th Year. Where possible we aim to give all students their first 3 choice subjects, however, this may not always be possible so we ask that 4 are selected. The core subjects are mandatory. The LCVP combines the academic strengths of the Leaving Certificate (established) with a new and dynamic focus on self–directed learning, innovation and enterprise, work and the community. St. Al’s students have a strong history of achieving excellent results in LCVP.
