150th Anniversary Celebrations

Last week, we marked a truly special occasion - the 150th anniversary of the SMG Sisters’ arrival in Carrigtwohill.

The day began with a beautiful ceremony led by Bishop Crean, Monsignor Reidy, and our Parish Priest, Fr. Winkle. We then gathered in Glenmary Hall, where past and present colleagues reflected on their time at St. Aloysius College and the enduring inspiration of the SMG congregation.

We were honoured to welcome students and staff from Scoil Chlochair Mhuire and to present the SMG Sisters with a stunning commissioned painting by our former colleague and Art teacher, Maria Coughlan.

A heartfelt thank you to our incredible students, staff, chaplain, music department, admin and caretaking teams, and to our past colleagues. Special thanks also to Le Chéile, the SMG Sisters, and the local community for joining us in this joyful celebration.
