Cork City Schools Debate Competition
Our debate team has had an incredible few weeks competing in the Cork City Schools Debate Competition! A huge well done to Faye, Ava, Ellie, Saoirse, and Lily, who all delivered outstanding speeches throughout the competition.
Special congratulations to Ellie, Saoirse, and Lily on reaching the final, where they debated the motion: “This House Believes it is sometimes the duty of the Press to withhold the truth.” They approached it with confidence, clarity, and impressive arguments.
We’d also like to recognise our Chairpersons, Ella (6th year) and Hannah (5th year), who were part of the judging panel, a fantastic achievement.
In the final, Saoirse and Ellie were awarded Best Team, while Lily was named Best Individual Speaker, an excellent result for the team!
Overall, a brilliant experience and a true reflection of the hard work and dedication put in by everyone involved. Well done all!
