Texaco Art Competition Success

We are absolutely delighted to share some fantastic news from our school community!

Mav Cotter (6th Year) has been awarded a Special Merit Award in the prestigious Texaco Children’s Art Competition for her stunning piece, “Leader of the Band”, a portrait of her grandad. This is a remarkable achievement in one of Ireland’s most respected and competitive art competitions, and a true testament to Mav’s exceptional talent and dedication.

Her artwork stands out for its extraordinary level of detail, precision, and expression. Every element of the piece has been so carefully observed and skillfully rendered, capturing not only the subject but also a real sense of atmosphere and character. The depth, composition, and technical ability on display make it a truly captivating work that draws you in the longer you look at it.

Mav’s ability to translate such intricate detail into a cohesive and powerful image reflects countless hours of commitment, patience, and passion for her craft. It is clear that she has a bright future ahead in the world of art.

As part of this achievement, Mav has been invited to attend the official awards ceremony this May, where she will celebrate alongside other talented young artists from across the country. This is a wonderful opportunity and a well-deserved recognition of her hard work.

We are incredibly proud of Mav and all that she has accomplished. Congratulations, Mav, on this outstanding success — we can’t wait to see what you create next!
