Three Countries Tour
Our 2nd Year students enjoyed a fantastic start to their Three Countries Tour last Sunday, packed with excitement, culture, and unforgettable experiences.
Day 1 – Düsseldorf & Cologne
After an early morning departure, the group landed in Düsseldorf before travelling on to the stunning city of Cologne. Their day began with a visit to the iconic Cologne Cathedral, followed by a sweet stop at the Lindt Chocolate Museum. The day concluded with a relaxing and scenic cruise along the Rhine River. After a day filled with sunshine, culture, and panoramic views (not to mention plenty of chocolate!), the group checked into their hotel for a well-earned rest.
Day 2 – Phantasialand
Monday brought a full day of thrills at Phantasialand. From high-speed rollercoasters to river rapids, there was something for everyone, and the day was filled with laughter, excitement, and adrenaline!
Days 3 & 4 – The Netherlands & Belgium
On Tuesday, the group travelled to their second country, Netherlands. Their first stop was the Netherlands American Cemetery and Memorial, where students had a moving and reflective experience, deeply appreciating the beauty and significance of the site. Next, they visited the charming town of Valkenburg, enjoying time to explore, shop, and have lunch.
A highlight of the afternoon was an action-packed visit featuring laser tag and bouncing activities in a cave setting, perfect for escaping the heat! Before that, students took a scenic chairlift to the top of the hill, where they enjoyed ice creams and slushies while taking in the views.
After an overnight stay in Brussels, the group visited the House of European History for an engaging and informative tour before heading to the airport for their return to Cork.
A huge well done to our 2nd Year students, who represented the school with positivity and kindness throughout the trip.
Sincere thanks to tour leader Ms O’Carroll and all accompanying teachers for making this incredible experience possible.
