Visit to Barryscourt Castle

On Friday, our 2nd Year students had the wonderful opportunity to take part in a walking tour of the beautifully restored Barryscourt Castle. The visit brought their classroom learning to life, allowing them to explore the rich history and impressive architecture of this remarkable site firsthand. Students were particularly engaged as they discovered how people lived in the past, from the design of the castle to the stories behind its restoration.

We would like to extend our sincere thanks to the History teachers who accompanied the group and helped make the day both enjoyable and educational. A special word of appreciation also goes to the knowledgeable and engaging OPW guides, whose insights and storytelling greatly enhanced the experience. It was a memorable outing that sparked curiosity and deepened students’ appreciation for Ireland’s heritage.
