Three Countries Tour 🌍

Group one of our 2nd year students’ had an early start as they jetted off on their school tour visiting three different countries. Touching down in DĂĽsseldorf on Sunday morning, they hit the ground running and headed straight to Cologne for a jam-packed first day.

First stop: the awe-inspiring Cologne Cathedral, a stunning example of Gothic architecture and a proud symbol of German Catholicism. Recognised as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, it definitely lived up to its reputation!

Next up: a visit to the deliciously fascinating Cologne Chocolate Museum. Founded in 1993, the museum offers a deep dive into the history and making of chocolate and of course, some sweet treats too! To wrap up the day, the group enjoyed a scenic KD Panorama Cruise on the Rhine River, taking in Cologne’s beautiful cityscape from the water. After a packed day of culture, chocolate, and cruising, they checked into their hotel to rest up for more adventures.

Day Two:

Our 2nd Years had an unforgettable day at Phantasialand, one of the world’s top-rated theme parks! Known for its incredible theming and thrilling attractions, our students experienced some of the best rides Europe has to offer; including Taron, the world’s second-fastest multi-launch coaster, and Black Mamba, a high-speed inverted roller coaster. They also took a wild ride through the park’s Wild West section on Colorado Adventure, a mine train roller coaster famously opened by Michael Jackson! The park’s newest addition, F.L.Y., a cutting-edge flying coaster, didn’t disappoint either.

Day Three:

Our students travelled into The Netherlands, starting with an underground adventure in the Valkenburg Limestone Caves! Students hopped aboard the Gemeentegrot Train to explore deeper parts of the caves, including a fascinating Cold War-era nuclear fallout shelter.

Next, they paid our respects at the Netherlands American Cemetery & Visitor Centre, a moving and powerful reminder of the sacrifices made in World War II.

They finished off the evening with Laser Tag & Bounce and a stroll through the streets of Valkenburg. Finally they travelled to Brussels for their final night of the tour.

Day Four:

Our students’ final day began in the heart of Brussels, where students explored the European Parliament’s House of European History and the Parlamentarium. A fascinating and interactive way to learn about the journey of European unity and democracy.

Before heading home, there was time for one last cultural stop; the stunning Grand Place (Grote Markt), the central square of Brussels and a UNESCO World Heritage site. Students enjoyed some well-earned free time here to take in the sights, grab lunch, and do a little souvenir shopping. That afternoon, they made their way to Brussels Charleroi Airport for the journey home.

A huge thank you to our amazing 2nd Year students for representing our school so proudly throughout the tour - you were fantastic ambassadors every step of the way.

And special thanks to our dedicated teachers who made the trip possible.
