Christmas Spirit Day

Last Friday, our school was transformed into a winter wonderland as we celebrated Christmas Spirit Day, and what a magical day it was! From the moment the doors opened, the entire school buzzed with festive cheer, creativity, and community spirit.

The biggest highlights was our Christmas Market, which was bigger and merrier than ever before. With over 50 stalls, Glenmary was filled with the smells of delicious festive treats, beautifully crafted gifts, handmade decorations, hot chocolate delights, and so much more. Students and staff enjoyed browsing the stalls and stocking up on Christmas goodies. We were also delighted to welcome our primary school visitors from Carrigtwohill and Midleton, who brought wonderful energy and excitement as they explored the market and joined in the fun.

Of course, Christmas Spirit Day wouldn’t be complete without festive fashion and this year, our school community truly outdid itself. From twinkling jumpers and comical costumes to full North Pole level attire, the creativity on display was absolutely mind-blowing!

This year also marked the debut of our very first Christmas Door Competition. Teachers and students teamed up to transform classroom doors into magical festive scenes. From sELFie’s, minions to snow-covered cottages the school felt like a page from a Christmas storybook. The effort and imagination that went into each door made judging nearly impossible!

To top off the festivities, our 6th-year students took part in a lively lunchtime Gingerbread House Competition. Teams worked frantically (and hilariously!) to construct the most creative, sturdy, and festive gingerbread masterpieces. There was plenty of icing and laughter, the results were both impressive and delicious.

A huge thank-you to all students, staff and visiting schools. Special thank you to Ms. Cashman and the TY Enterprise class for a magical Christmas Market 🎁✨
